Maple Syrup Butter Tarts

Butter - softened - ¼ cup (60 ml, 57 g)

Firmly packed brown sugar - ¼ cup (60 ml, 53 g)

Egg - large farm fresh - 1

Vanilla Extract - ½ tsp (3 ml, 3 g)

Ontario Maple syrup - ½ cup (120 ml, 156 g)

Unbaked tart shells (purchased or handmade) - 12
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C/Gas 5)
- Place tarts on a baking sheet.
- Beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Whisk in the egg, vanilla and maple syrup.
- Whip until smooth.
- Ladle into tart shells until each is ¾ full.
- Bake at 375⁰ F (190⁰ C) for 15 to 20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
